Network & network security

Cisco
Enterprise networking and security, from branch to cloud.

Cisco networking and security - cloud-managed switching, WiFi and SD-WAN, firewalls, multi-factor authentication and DNS security - designed, built and operated by ELPC.

About the product

What is Cisco?

Cisco offers a broad range of networking and security solutions: Meraki for cloud-managed networks (switches, WiFi, SD-WAN and cameras), Catalyst for campus networks, Secure Firewall for perimeter protection, Duo for MFA and Zero Trust, and Umbrella for DNS and internet security.

ELPC designs and builds Cisco infrastructure, handles upgrades and migrations from legacy equipment, and operates the network as part of our managed networking and security services.

Cisco for business - enterprise networking and security

Cisco offers a broad portfolio of networking and security solutions: Meraki for cloud-managed networking, Catalyst for campus networks, Secure Firewall for perimeter protection, Duo for multi-factor authentication, ISE for network access control, Umbrella for DNS and internet security, and Webex for communication and collaboration.

The advantage of one portfolio is consistent visibility and policy: the same organization manages switching, WiFi, firewall and employee access, with fewer consoles and fewer gaps between systems.

  • A stable network for hybrid work: reliable connectivity between offices, branches, cloud and remote workers.
  • Access control: verifying users and devices before they get access to the network and applications.
  • Layered protection: firewall, DNS security and multi-factor authentication working together.
  • Regulatory support: access controls, segmentation and logging that help meet the requirements of Israel's Privacy Protection Law Amendment 13, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS.

Meraki or Catalyst - which is right for you?

Cisco offers two main approaches to the enterprise network, and the choice depends on the organization's size, IT team structure and requirements:

  • Meraki: fully cloud-managed, fast branch rollout, a simple interface and per-device licensing. Especially suited to distributed organizations and small IT teams.
  • Catalyst: flexibility and advanced configuration-level control, suited to large campuses, data centers and complex environments. Some models can also be managed from the Meraki Dashboard.

ELPC helps choose the right approach after a needs assessment, and also designs mixed environments.

What you get

  • Network architecture design and WiFi survey: needs mapping, coverage planning, and layering and segmentation.
  • Build and deployment: installing and configuring Meraki, Catalyst, SD-WAN and Secure Firewall.
  • Migration and upgrade: moving off end-of-life Cisco equipment or another vendor, planned in advance and executed in controlled maintenance windows.
  • Access security: deploying Duo, ISE and Umbrella and connecting them to your identity provider.
  • Hardening: firewall policy, segmentation, guest network separation and secure device management.
  • License and equipment lifecycle management: tracking license and support renewals and firmware updates.

After the build, ELPC operates the network as part of its managed networking and security services: monitoring, fault handling, updates and continuous improvement.

Why Cisco with ELPC

  • End-to-end design: network, security and identity planned together, as part of one outsourced IT and security department.
  • Hardening, not just installation: configuration built around your organization's risks and reviewed over time.
  • Ongoing operations: monitoring, updates, license management and fault handling as part of the managed service.
  • Hebrew-speaking support: an Israeli network team that knows the local business environment.
  • Regulatory alignment: controls and documentation that support the requirements of Amendment 13, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS, and help with audit readiness.
The ELPC difference

Not just a license - a managed service.

The product is only half the solution. ELPC’s team designs, deploys and operates it as part of your IT and security department.

  • Network architecture design and WiFi surveys
  • Deployment, migration and hardening of Cisco equipment
  • Ongoing network monitoring and operations
  • License and equipment lifecycle management
FAQ
What is the difference between Cisco Meraki and Cisco Catalyst?

Meraki is fully cloud-managed through the Meraki Dashboard, with fast rollout and a simple interface - suited to distributed organizations and small IT teams. Catalyst offers advanced configuration-level control and suits large campuses and complex environments. ELPC recommends the right approach after a needs assessment.

What is Cisco Duo?

Duo is a multi-factor authentication (MFA) and Zero Trust access solution. It verifies the user and checks device health before granting access to applications, VPN and corporate systems, and integrates with common identity providers.

What does Cisco Umbrella do?

Umbrella is a cloud-delivered DNS and internet security service that blocks access to malicious sites, phishing sites and malware command-and-control servers - before a connection is made. It protects users even when they work outside the office.

What is Cisco ISE and when do you need it?

Cisco ISE is a network access control (NAC) system. It identifies and authenticates users and devices connecting to the wired, wireless or VPN network and assigns permissions according to policy. It suits organizations that want control over who and what connects to the network.

Our equipment has reached end of life - what now?

Equipment that no longer receives security updates from the vendor is a risk. ELPC maps your existing equipment, plans a phased replacement with supported models or a move to Meraki, and performs the migration in controlled maintenance windows.

How do Cisco solutions help with Israel's Privacy Protection Law Amendment 13?

Combining a firewall, segmentation, multi-factor authentication with Duo, network access control with ISE and event logging supports the security controls required by Amendment 13, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS. Compliance also depends on the organization's own procedures and processes.
