Palo Alto Networks offers an enterprise security platform that includes next-generation firewalls (NGFW), cloud-delivered security services, SASE-based secure access and endpoint protection. Palo Alto firewalls provide visibility and control over application and content permissions by user, not just by IP address.
At the core is App-ID, which identifies applications accurately regardless of port, protocol or evasion technique, and lets the firewall inspect content to stop threats and prevent data leakage. Organizations can enable SaaS and cloud applications while staying in control, and consolidate separate security components into one platform.
A Palo Alto project with ELPC ends with documented, managed security infrastructure - not just a box installed in the network cabinet:
After deployment, ELPC provides an ongoing managed service: monitoring, PAN-OS updates, incident handling, periodic policy reviews and cleanup of unused rules.
Palo Alto products deliver advanced network security, but getting full value from them takes professional management. In many organizations the IT team is busy with day-to-day work, lacks dedicated training or isn't available to handle security events after hours. ELPC's expert services are designed to close that gap:
The product is only half the solution. ELPC’s team designs, deploys and operates it as part of your IT and security department.
A traditional firewall filters traffic mainly by IP address and port. A Palo Alto next-generation firewall identifies the application itself (App-ID), the user (User-ID) and the content, so policy can be built around who accesses which application - along with inspection for threats and data leakage prevention.
PA-Series are physical firewalls for offices, branches and data centers. VM-Series are virtual firewalls that run on virtualization platforms and in public cloud. Cloud NGFW is a managed service in public clouds such as AWS and Azure. All are based on PAN-OS and can be managed from a central management system.
Prisma Access is Palo Alto's cloud-delivered SASE service, giving remote workers and branches secure access to the internet, SaaS applications and corporate resources under the same security policy. It suits organizations with hybrid work or many branches that want to reduce reliance on on-site hardware.
Yes. ELPC migrates from other vendors' firewalls, including mapping and converting existing rules, removing redundant rules and a controlled cutover that minimizes downtime. It is also an opportunity to rebuild policy around applications and identities.
The firewall supports controls such as per-user access control, segmentation of networks holding sensitive data, logging, and detection of exfiltration attempts. With correct configuration and documentation, it helps meet the requirements of Amendment 13, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS - though compliance also depends on the organization's own processes and procedures.
Ongoing monitoring, PAN-OS and security service updates, configuration backup, incident and fault handling, vendor case management, and periodic policy reviews to find overly permissive or unused rules. The scope is tailored to the organization's size and needs.
