Upwind
Cloud security that knows what's actually running.

Upwind is a cloud security platform (CNAPP) focused on runtime - detecting threats in real time and prioritizing the risks that really matter.

About the product

What is Upwind?

Upwind combines cloud posture management, vulnerability management and workload protection with runtime visibility from a lightweight eBPF-based sensor. That shows which vulnerabilities and exposures actually exist in running components - so you fix those first.

ELPC helps organizations running in the cloud and on Kubernetes deploy Upwind, define policies and handling processes, and feed the findings into the daily work of development, DevOps and security teams.

Capabilities

What you get with Upwind.

Runtime security

Real-time detection of threats and anomalous activity in workloads and containers.

CSPM

Finds misconfigurations and exposures across AWS, Azure and GCP.

Vulnerability prioritization

Prioritized by what is actually running and reachable, not long lists.

Kubernetes security

Visibility and control over clusters, pods and traffic.

API security

Discovers APIs and tracks their exposure.

eBPF sensor

Lightweight deployment with low performance impact.

What's in the platform

From code to runtime, one risk picture for your cloud.

Cloud posture management (CSPM)

Finds misconfigurations, internet-exposed resources and policy drift across your cloud accounts.

Cloud detection & response (CDR)

An eBPF-based sensor that detects anomalous processes, traffic and behavior at runtime on hosts and containers.

Vulnerability management & prioritization

Prioritizes vulnerabilities by what is actually loaded, running and reachable, not just by severity score.

Container & Kubernetes security

Visibility into clusters, pods and the traffic between them, plus an admission controller for unapproved images.

Cloud identities & entitlements (CIEM)

Maps permissions of users, roles and service accounts and flags excessive privileges.

API security & sensitive data (DSPM)

Discovers APIs and sensitive data stores in the cloud and tracks their exposure.

Why cloud security needs to know what's actually running

Organizations in the cloud get long lists of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations from scanning tools - thousands of findings, most of which aren't actually exploitable. Development and DevOps teams can't fix everything, and the real risk gets lost in the noise.

Upwind adds the runtime layer: a lightweight eBPF-based sensor sees which packages are actually loaded, which services are exposed to the internet and what traffic flows between them. That lets you focus on the findings that truly put the environment at risk, and detect an active attack rather than just a theoretical weakness.

  • Less noise and shorter remediation time for development and DevOps teams.
  • Real-time detection of anomalous activity in workloads, not just periodic scans.
  • Visibility into attack paths that link exposure, vulnerability and excessive permissions.
  • A documented basis for managing cloud risk with customers, auditors and investors.

What you get

  • Cloud accounts (AWS, Azure, GCP) connected and the sensor deployed on clusters and hosts per an agreed plan.
  • Mapping of assets, configurations and permissions, with an initial gap report and remediation priorities.
  • Policies and alerts tuned to your environment, including alert channels to the relevant teams.
  • Findings connected to your existing tools (ticketing, chat, CI/CD) so fixes reach the people who own them.
  • Ongoing tracking of risk trends and periodic management reports.

Why deploy Upwind with ELPC

A CNAPP delivers value only when someone turns its findings into organized work. ELPC bridges security, development and DevOps teams, and deploys Upwind as part of your organization's risk management process.

  • Environment assessment and a gradual deployment plan, coordinated with infrastructure and development teams.
  • Policies, alert thresholds and clear handling processes - who fixes what, in what order and by when.
  • Ongoing support: tracking findings, handling runtime alerts and continuous tuning, with Hebrew-speaking support.
  • Integration with the rest of your security stack, such as endpoint protection, SIEM and identity management.

Upwind helps document cloud controls that support ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR and Amendment 13 to Israel's Privacy Protection Law - particularly around personal data stores in the cloud and access to them. ELPC also supports vendor due diligence: security reports, the data processing agreement (DPA) and understanding what data the sensor collects.

The ELPC difference

Not just a license - a managed service.

The product is only half the solution. ELPC’s team designs, deploys and operates it as part of your IT and security department.

  • Cloud environment assessment and deployment plan
  • Policy, alerting and handling process setup
  • Findings integrated into DevOps and security workflows
  • Vendor due diligence: SOC 2 / ISO 27001, DPA and data residency
FAQ
What is Upwind?

Upwind is a cloud security platform (CNAPP) that combines cloud posture management, vulnerability management, entitlement management and workload protection, with runtime visibility from an eBPF-based sensor. The goal is to detect threats in real time and prioritize the risks that actually matter.

What is a CNAPP?

A CNAPP (Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform) unifies several areas of cloud security - configuration (CSPM), workloads, entitlements (CIEM), vulnerabilities and code security - into one view, instead of a separate tool for each.

How is Upwind different from an agentless CSPM scanner?

Agentless scanning shows configurations and vulnerabilities present in the environment. Upwind adds a runtime sensor that shows what is actually loaded and running, which services are reachable and what activity is really happening - enabling better prioritization and detection of active attacks.

Does the Upwind sensor affect server performance?

The sensor is based on eBPF, a Linux kernel technology that collects process and network data efficiently. Performance impact is low, and ELPC starts with a limited deployment to validate this before expanding.

How long does an Upwind deployment take?

Connecting cloud accounts and getting an initial picture is relatively quick. Sensor rollout, policy tuning and connecting findings to workflows happen gradually, and the timeline depends on the size of the environment and the number of clusters.

Who is Upwind for?

Companies running applications in the public cloud, especially on containers and Kubernetes - SaaS companies, growing startups and organizations moving to the cloud that need to show security controls to customers and auditors.
